Michel Foucault, wrestling with the idea of the real and imaginary in spatial terms, came up with the concept of heterotopia to describe a place that is real and unreal at the same time as opposed to the Utopia which is imaginary only and does not exist. We live a dual reality existence that embraces reality and the imaginary at the same time.
What I found particularly interesting about the Nature Temples is that they act as a guise protecting a secret military base from the public knowledge. I wanted to bring this historical semblance to public awareness by creating tunnels that guide visitors from the dreamful temples into the secret military base.
Therefore in the Temples are utopian because we cannot prove that what they are showing us is reality hidden in the existing objects and at the same time they are real gates to another space defined by their boundaries and determine our relationship to this space.
